Conditions Treated:
Stroke– Also referred to as a “brain attack,” a brain stroke is a medical emergency caused by too little or too much blood flowing to the brain.
Brain Hemorrhage – Bleeding in the brain is known as brain hemorrhage which can happen due to accident, brain tumor, stroke or high blood pressure caused by congenital health disorders. This brain bleed can reduce the supply of oxygen to the brain thus creating pressure in the brain and eventually killing the brain cells. It can be caused by head trauma due to an accident or fall, and hypertension as well.
Epilepsy – A central nervous system or neurological disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal is called epilepsy. In epilepsy, the person experiences seizures, sensations and sometimes loss of awareness as well. Some warning signs or symptoms of epilepsy are temporary confusion, staring spell, uncontrolled jerks of arms and legs, loss of consciousness and memory lapses.
Spinal Disorders – Spinal cord disorders cause the spinal cord to deteriorate and be damaged and may be caused by tumours, spinal stenosis, abscess, hematoma, vertebral fractures and degenerative disc disease. Common spine conditions are spondylosis, sciatica, spinal infections, spinal tumors, and spinal stenosis. Some of the symptoms to watch out for are stiffness in the lower back, muscle spasms and inability to maintain normal posture due to pain.
Spinal Cord Tumors –A spinal cord tumor may form inside the spinal cord itself (intradural tumor) or around the bones that make up the spine (vertebral tumor). Spinal tumors can cause pain, neurological problems, paralysis, permanent disability or can even be life-threatening.
Myasthenia Gravis – Characterized by fatigue of muscles, in Myasthenia Gravis, a breakdown of normal communication between nerves and muscles is caused. It is the result of the immune system mistakenly attacking a healthy part of the body.
Guillain-Barre Syndrome – This is a rare disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves. The first signs and symptoms are weakness and a tingling sensation in the hands and feet. Eventually this paralyzes the body. Some effects may be mild but other acute effects include difficulty in walking without assistance, difficulty in breathing or speaking, blurred vision, problems in swallowing and severe pain.
