Tonsillitis – Tonsils are oval shaped pads of tissue at the back of the throat, one on each side. Inflammation of the tonsils is known as tonsilitis and the symptoms include swelling of the tonsils, sore throat, difficulty in swallowing and tender lymph nodes on the sides of the neck. Common causes of tonsillitis are viral or bacterial infection.

Adenoids – In case of difficulty in breathing through the nose or frequent ear infections or sinus infections cause adenoids which can be treated through surgery.

Sinusitis – Inflammation of the tissue lining of the sinuses or the four-paired spaces in the head connected by narrow channels, is known as sinusitis. Thin mucus is discharged from the nose in sinusitis and the symptoms include nasal congestion and facial pain. Acute sinusitis may also include blocked and stuffy nose which may prevent drainage of mucus.

Ear Infections – Also known as acute otitis media, ear infection includes management of pain and administering antibiotics as well. The air filled space behind the eardrum is affected by ear infection, thus causing ear pain, drainage of fluid from the ear, and difficulty in hearing. If left untreated, it may cause hearing problems or other complications that might be serious.

Snoring & Sleep Apnea – Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common sleep-related breathing disorder that makes one stop and start breathing while sleeping. Snoring is a sign of obstructive sleep apnea.

Some common congenital disorders are cleft palate, congenital heart disease, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, cystic fibrosis.

Hearing Loss – In mild cases high-pitched sounds may be missed whereas at other times total loss of hearing may happen. Sensorineural hearing loss happens when there is damage to the inner ear.
